Thailand Food Exploration: Khanom Buang

This street-stall dessert reminds me a little of fortune cookies, although instead of a strip of paper bearing some sage or occasionally baffling advice, it contains a bright, sticky confection.

A small dollop of a gloopy meringue-like filling is topped with strands of sweet egg yolk and encased with a thin, crispy crêpe. Very light and slightly sickly.
