I don’t like coffee. I do like eggs. But egg coffee? When I first heard those two words put together I spent some time trying to envisage what it would be.
A poached egg floating in a cup of coffee? A kind of coffee shake?
It’s actually this:
The best way I can describe it is like a coffee syllabub. A frothy custardy coffee-infused foam sitting atop the rest of the cup of coffee.
We had egg coffee at Giang’s which I believe was the originator, though there are other places that make it dotted around Hanoi.
I say we, but I actually had egg chocolate!
Same as the coffee but using hot chocolate instead – yum!
All I can say is try it – it’s a unique experience.
