Lilly and Boo’s Cupcakery, Bristol

Visiting a friend in Bristol recently, I meandered past a cupcake shop en route to lunch (Lilly and Boo’s Cupcakery, corner of Cotham Hill and Whiteladies Road), and immediately stopped and pressed my face up against the window. Rows of gorgeous cakes winked back at me, definitely insisting that my visit would not be complete without a cake stop.

An hour or so later I was in possession of a Velvet Elvis, for the princely sum of £2.20. The guy behind the counter was wonderfully friendly, and my cake was carefully packaged into a little plastic case shaped to protect its dome of icing.

Food Analysis: Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter

Way back in May, I wrote an impassioned post about my two loves, chocolate and peanut butter. In it, I referred to the elusive Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter, which I had yet to come across.

Last week I was out for the night and my friend wanted to pop into the supermarket to pick up some headache pills. As we cruised past the confectionery, my gaze lit on an array of Kit Kat Chunkies, and there was the Peanut Butter variety.

I picked one up and my friend kindly agreed to cart it around for me the whole night as I had the world’s tiniest bag. I got it home the next day, and H took a picture of its slightly crushed and melted self before we tried it.

Sidewalks Bar & Diner, North Camp, Farnborough

This isn’t  a proper post. It’s a tiny one just to draw your attention to a new place I spotted in North Camp recently – the Sidewalks Bar & Diner (Lynchford Road).

So far we’ve only popped in for milkshake (H had a “hard shake” with rum in!) but we plan to return to try something from the menu some time (lots of different burgers and hot dogs).

It’s got a nice pub feel and a garden out back. If you get there before me, let me know how the food is!
