Khao Soi by Chariya, Alton

I have known Chariya for a number of years, and her MasterChef UK 2023 win was richly deserved. Her drive, enthusiasm and expertise has always been amazing, plus she is annoyingly likeable for someone so gifted.

Farewell Thailand, Hello Scotland!

A drastic drop in temperature (over 20 degrees) signalled my return to Scotland a wee while ago.

Up until now I’ve been working through all the Thailand food posts I didn’t get time to write when I was out there.

I’ve now finished, so for my 100th post, I’m glad to say I’ll be turning back to exploring the Scottish food scene.

I’ll be trying my hand at a few restaurant reviews (although I’m anxious about being too critical, which doesn’t bode well!) and doing my best to track down all kinds of wonderful food.

As I’m living in Ayrshire, the focus will no doubt be around here, but I hope to cover some Glasgow outlets in the future, and I’m sure there’ll be some random excursions too.

Forks at the ready!
