“Is this alcoholic?!” is not a reaction any sensible person should have to something called rum punch. But in my defense, it was sitting innocently among the teas and coffees on a regular café menu, and was priced around the same as its fellows.
Sure it was CALLED rum punch, but my assumption that it must be some sort of hot rum-esque-but-not-actual-rum beverage turned out to be wrong.
Last year H and I had a September holiday in Sicily. As you can imagine, there were lots of good eats, although less cuisine diversity than I had envisaged.
However that gave us the opportunity to make the most of all the Sicilian favourites, which we did with gusto.
As you have probably noticed, the last 8 months have been dedicated to posts about my trip to Thailand and Vietnam over the Christmas/New Year period.
But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been eating and drinking anything blog-worthy this year – I have! I have just failed miserably to write up anything 🙂
This post isn’t able to remedy that. It’s really just to flag up some wonderful cocktail bars H and I have been to during monthly “cocktail crawls”. These tend to start early afternoon and take in 4 – 6 stops including food before heading home while most peeps are just getting started!
