I mentioned in my last post that my Christmas dinner this year was a brunch buffet at Mantra.
I’ve mentioned Mantra buffets before (albeit a long while ago). When I heard we were going here on Christmas Day I was unreasonably excited, and couldn’t wait to see what they would have on offer. Surely not turkey?
Thailand Food Exploration: Jok and Pa Thong Ko
After nearly 4 years, H and I finally made it back to Thailand, this time to spend Christmas with his dad and family in Chonburi.
It was my first Christmas outside the UK, but a tree and presents were waiting, and we had an amazing buffet brunch at Mantra. Plus I didn’t have to eat a single Brussels sprout! Win!
As usual, food was one of the core parts of the holiday for me. Although I’ve had quite a lot of food in Thailand over the years, there is still a lot to try. After some online research I thought a traditional Thai breakfast would be a good place to start, specifically Jok and Pa Thong Ko.

A Day of Indulgence, London
It was my birthday not so very long ago. I booked the day off work and then spent some time considering what to do.
H unfortunately had to work, so I decided to have a day out in London alone. However there was no sightseeing for me. Nope, I was going on a food crawl.
Sushi Samba, London
High up in the Heron Tower in London you can find SUISHISAMBA (their caps, not mine!). Tucked below the oft discussed Duck and Waffle, the restaurant offers “a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine”.
